How We Review — Editorial Policy

Our promise

Recommendations on SplitTheTrack are decided by our editors based on first-hand testing — never by advertisers or affiliate partners. No company can pay to change a rating, a ranking, or a warning we believe readers need to see.

How we test

  • Same tracks, every tool. We keep a fixed set of reference tracks — dense pop mixes, live recordings, spoken word with noise — and run them through every tool we compare. Results are comparable, not cherry-picked.
  • We publish the audio. Reviews include before/after clips so you can hear the artifacts, not just read adjectives about them.
  • We pay our own way. Subscriptions and credit packs used in reviews are bought by us, and we show our dates: every review displays when it was last tested.

How we make money (affiliate disclosure)

SplitTheTrack is reader-supported. When you sign up for an audio tool through links on our site, we may earn a commission from the provider — for example through the LALAL.AI partner program. This commission:

  • costs you nothing extra — prices are identical to signing up directly;
  • never determines what we recommend — we link to tools we use on our own projects;
  • funds the subscriptions and test gear that keep this site independent and ad-free.

Affiliate links on our site are marked with rel="sponsored" in accordance with Google’s guidelines, and articles containing them carry a disclosure notice at the top.

What we never do

  • No pay-to-play placements or “sponsored rankings”.
  • No recommending tools we haven’t run our own audio through.
  • No copying other sites’ test results and presenting them as our own.
