SplitTheTrack is an independent publication about AI audio tools — stem separation, vocal removal, AI mastering, noise cleanup and the growing toolbox that lets musicians, DJs, podcasters and creators do studio-grade work from a laptop.
Why we exist
Every AI audio tool demos beautifully on the vendor’s hand-picked track. The real question is how it handles your audio: a dense mix, a live recording, a vocal drowned in reverb. Most reviews never test that. We built SplitTheTrack to run every tool through the same hard test tracks and publish the results — including the audio itself, so you can judge with your own ears.
How we work
We pay for the plans we review, process the same reference tracks through every competing tool, and embed before/after audio in our articles. When a tool ships a major model update, we re-test. You can read exactly how we test and how we make money in our editorial policy.
Who we are
Ryan Cole — Founder & Lead Reviewer. Ryan is an audio engineer and producer who has spent years cleaning up impossible recordings — from bedroom demos to live bootlegs — and now spends his days stress-testing the AI tools that promise to do it in one click.
